As one they turned and said to each other "…it's like being in Brooke's book."

Mike said that they both laughed but he admitted that it was a nervous laugh, because in Brooke Babineau's novel Below Mile Zero, many dark and dangerous things lurked at the end of that very road.

Unlike many novels that are totally made up with very little to connect them to the real world, Below Mile Zero is very much set in reality, and one can easily connect to the events in this classic suspense thriller while touring the tropical paradise known as Key West.

Rumor has it that a pictorial essay of the sequential locations listed in Below Mile Zero is presently underway by a local entrepreneur.

More on this development and where the presentation can be viewed in a future posting.Cre8tve1http://www.blogger.com/profile/04289452016359620646noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5649049989246361103.post-37962342706583015422010-09-29T06:26:00.000-07:002010-09-29T06:34:59.129-07:00Review links for Below Mile Zero

BookFinder4u
Barnes & Noble
Amazon
alibris
itrackmine
Cre8tve1Cre8tve1http://www.blogger.com/profile/04289452016359620646noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5649049989246361103.post-21625884853159271982010-08-19T10:37:00.001-07:002010-08-19T10:37:52.754-07:00Follow Brooke Babineau, author of Below Mile Zero on your twitter account.Cre8tve1http://www.blogger.com/profile/04289452016359620646noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5649049989246361103.post-65440420294890869042010-04-10T05:39:00.000-07:002010-09-29T06:25:14.005-07:00Cre8tve1 publishing is offering an opportunity for entrepreneurs.

Interested parties are invited to contact the publisher.

Cre8tve1http://www.blogger.com/profile/04289452016359620646noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5649049989246361103.post-15332176917699991842008-06-03T05:14:00.000-07:002008-06-03T05:15:43.149-07:00Apparently, word is getting out. (see posting further below)

Apparently, judging by the research I've been doing on drug smuggling, theft, outlaw behavior, and government conspiracies referenced in the novel (Below Mile Zero) by Brooke Babineau, the title may be indicative of a sub-culture of wolves in sheeps' clothing.

The publishers of Below Mile Zero have posted the beginning of the novel, through Chapter 1, online at the web site supporting the author at: www.cre8tve1.com look for the Free Sample link.

And while you're there, this is a site worth exploring.

I encourage readers to visit this one; it's a treat.Cre8tve1http://www.blogger.com/profile/04289452016359620646noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5649049989246361103.post-77584923136810109202008-05-22T06:13:00.000-07:002008-06-03T05:24:57.241-07:00Recommended link: www.narconews.com/Issue33/article981.html

Read about the goings on behind the bureaucracies. Check out this article that outlines a case that defies reason or logic:

http://www.dldewey.com/kleiman.htmCre8tve1http://www.blogger.com/profile/04289452016359620646noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5649049989246361103.post-75869062270790566302008-05-20T04:54:00.000-07:002008-06-03T05:28:18.889-07:00www.reuters.com/article/americasCrisis/idUSN01454027

According to the Reuters article, dated May 1, 2008, the reason why drug
smuggling cocaine) flights from Venezuela have shifted from Haiti to the Dominican Republic, quoting the US Joint Interagency Task Force in Key West, is that the unstable government in Haiti makes for a bad-for-business environment.

Understandably, to successfully operate outside the law it would be favorable to have a solid, stable playing field supported by a strong (they have all the guns) government, a government in need of money and not above doing a little business with criminal elements.

Consider Cuba; a politically stable country, and one in need of money, that has little love for the United States. How unlikely is Cuba's willingness to serve as a base of operations for drug smuggling to the US?

Many believe Tom Clancy's novels (Debt of Honor , 1994; Executive Orders, 1996) contained the blueprint for the attack on the World Trade Center, by using commercial jets asbalistic missiles.

Generated as a work of fiction, perhaps "Below Mile Zero, the new novel by Brooke Babineau, may be a case of real life imitating fiction? Cre8tve1http://www.blogger.com/profile/04289452016359620646noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5649049989246361103.post-19871275756378333602008-05-17T11:36:00.000-07:002008-05-23T05:47:18.090-07:00For more information about the author, Brooke Babineau, check out http://cre8tve1.com/

A free read of the Below Mile Zero novel can be found at the following link:

http://cre8tve1.com/Key%20West%20drug%20smuggling.htmCre8tve1http://www.blogger.com/profile/04289452016359620646noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5649049989246361103.post-64938512216743925752008-04-05T14:48:00.000-07:002008-12-11T02:09:16.732-08:00Below Mile Zero, a story of Key WestThere is an anomaly in Key West; at the corner of Whitehead and Fleming streets, on one side, a sign proclaims the start of Highway 1 with Begin Mile Zero...

On the opposite side another states End Mile Zero...

The oddity: there are another five blocks "Below Mile Zero."

Coincidentally, or not, this is the title of a new novel about Key West.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-LghBsALfxq-ubW0IVoYv_-4vXm7Kx2WR3ruzhSeJmbra_E_GCgBjaSY9inR2ihj7TYMjq9ZRLVZPpwBFFMvVhx3u80cZWO6kHIRJS5-GWRDdhJh3loLF94mQCmCo6hcAxFdsOuZqb3QU/s320/BMZ+cover.1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5185920902944814706" />

The story came to the attention of the nascent publishing company, Cre8tve1 Corporation, in the form of a letter. Oddly enough the letter was not from a wannabe author, but...

Instead of telling you, the letter appears below in its original form, complete with typos and eccentric Key West phraseology:

A letter to the Publisher:

My name isn’t on any tax rolls and I’m not in the phone book. I’ve been pretty thorough about ensuring my privacy, and that will probably get me screwed.

With my history I can't go to anyone for help because most of the police I’ve met are corrupt, and those who aren’t have no reason to believe or help me.

I am a survivor. I got through Vietnam and the drug wars in America in the 70's, more or less intact. There were casualties in both wars; I lost my family in the last one, but I got out with a little piece of paradise I could call my own. I've been living comfortably in Key West since the 80’s and figured on being here until I’m old and gray. But all that has changed….

Let me explain: This guy I met washed up here about five years ago. He was flat broke and on the run from some pretty bad people in New Orleans. An old partner of mine helped him dry out and get back on his feet. Eventually he became a friend of mine…and I don't make friends easy, experience has taught me it's a good way to get dead.

Looking at what's been happening over the past couple of weeks, and what's probably going to happen next, most likely I will be dead or in prison for the rest of my life by the time you get around to reading this.

I’ve been talking to this writer I know. I figure the only way I have of getting the record straight is to have him set it up like a work of fiction. I know this has been done before, so that the truth can come out.

He’ll have to change the names and the details enough, so that no one else can be hurt, but with enough truth in it to get people asking questions about why the DEA is importing cocaine from Cuba and killing people in America.

This writer doesn’t know I’m writing to you. I don’t want anything out of this, I’ve got enough to live well, if I can survive this mess, but I’d like him to catch a break, so I’d appreciate it if you could not mention my contacting you. I’d like him to think he got a book deal on his own.

Tony Amundsen

So compelling was this letter, and the manuscript that followed several months later, that we decided to debut Cre8tve1 Corporation with Below Mile Zero, and we've used the above letter as a Foreword.

A little something about the author, Brooke Babineau...

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTV7qcWx18uNMFX1iJSqwZLeQdYQmNk-pGh57WvvUGgoHuggdfMRAiN_8NJ9kgaxyjVDyuRItX553mM_Ox3C0mmg-p5A8wEks10P-mxDzSSZ5c5fdnaY4YiSOjV7jG9sXj840ztjSDQWwO/s200/Picture+017.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5185919588684822098" />

...in his own words, which we elected to use as an Author’s Note:

Other than a greater degree of comfort and familiarity with advancing technologies, people have not evolved; there are no new emotions; love, hate, fear and desire continue to shape our destiny.

A website has been constructed at http://cre8tve1.com/ to support the author and a fine nail-biting nerve-tightening piece of adventure/suspense fiction.

Below Mile Zero will be available in hardcover June 1, 2008 from major booksellers and on the Internet; an advance copy may be ordered fromCre8tve1 at http://cre8tve1.com/buy%20books.htm
Cre8tve1http://www.blogger.com/profile/04289452016359620646noreply@blogger.com1
